Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana confirmed its power by downing FC Bayern Munich 74-68 at Arena Stozice in the Slovenian capital. Jaka Blazic led the winners with 13 points. Melvin Ejim and Jacob Pullen each added 12 while Marcus Keene had 11 for Cedevita. DeShaun Thomas led Bayern with 15 points. Augustine Rubit had 14 while Andreas Obst got 13 for the German powerhouse. Olimpija led 38-33 at halftime and boosted its margin to 61-48 at the end of the third quarter. Bayern managed to get within 68-66 on a three-pointer by Thomas but Zach Auguste dunked and Keene sank a mid-range jumper, allowing Cedevita to keep full control of the game until the final buzzer.
Promitheas Patras grabbed its second pre-season win in as many games by topping Iraklis 103-85 at home on Tuesday. Kendrick Ray paced the winners with 19 points. Dimitris Agravanis added 18, Abdul Gaddy 11 and Dario Hunt 10. Promitheas led 24-19 after 10 minutes, extending its margin to 51-45 at halftime and then again to 78-70 at the end of the third quarter. Nothing changed in the final 10 minutes, as Promitheas kept rolling until the final buzzer and cruised to a well-deserved win.
Lietkabelis registered an 82-88 loss against Filou Ostend in Vilnius. Phil Booth and Mikael Jantunen led the winners with 18 points apiece Kristupas Zemaitis led Lietkabelis with 16 points. Dovydas Giedraitis added 15 while Vytenis Lipkevicius had 14 for Lietkabelis, that led 22-19 after 10 minutes and kept a 44-42 edge at halftime. Ostend improved after the break, getting a 61-65 edge after 30 minutes. Lietkebalis got within 80-83 in the final minute but Orelik missed from downtown and Jantunen sealed the outcome from the foul line.
